About the Grants Committee

The PCA Grants Committee is composed of members who administer the Grants Program for the PCA. The Committee works to help PCA advance its educational mission to educate its members and the general public about glass paperweights and related objects. This working group of volunteer members performs the following tasks:

  • Checks email daily at [email protected] to monitor donations to the PCA and incoming grant applications and correspondence
  • Sends Thank You notes to donors and correspondence to families of those honored with memorials and other tributes
  • Meets regularly to review grant applications from PCA Registered Artists as well as organizations and individuals who have submitted applications with ideas to advance knowledge and ways to promote glass paperweights and related objects
  • Notifies award recipients and monitors their grant to fulfill the terms and conditions agreed upon with the grant award
  • Revises application forms and documents as needed
  • Maintains webpages with the help of the PCA Webmaster related to Donations and Grants at https://paperweight.org These include Two Application Forms, One Donation Form, Grant History Page, About the Grants Committee Page
  • Develops and implements a Communication Plan to keep members engaged with the Donations and Grants Programs by submitting articles to the PCA Quarterly Newsletter, sending emails to the membership, developing donation campaigns, speaking at conferences, reporting regularly to the Board of Directors, particularly the President and Treasurer, and noting donations made in the PCA Quarterly Newsletter
